Update on my Maria Chabot book

Hello! A few folks have reached out to me wondering about the status of Maria Chabot's biography so...here's an update: It takes forever to write a book and it also takes forever to get one published :)
I have signed a contract with an academic publisher, which means the book - though not an academic work - needs to go through a peer review process. Two of three peer reviews have come back with very useful feedback. We're waiting on a third, and things are looking good for a fall 2027 publish.
I promise to provide more frequent updates when I have more information. Up until this point (and still now) it has been a lot of hurry up and wait!
I've received a couple of question asking about a Maria Chabot movie. I am not aware of any movies about Maria that are in the works or have been released, but here are the things I do know of:
An oldie but goodie Georgia O'Keeffe documentary by the BBC that Maria is actually in (around the 54:00 minute mark)!
The new-ish Georgia O'Keeffe movie, The Brightness of Light, mentions Maria briefly
Despite some health setbacks, I have been making a lot of art in between book edits. Much of it has been inspired by my time in New Mexico as well as stories from Maria and Georgia. Someone even made a mini-documetary about me! Check out this "Studio Session", by ArtDocsTV.
