What better way to start off a new year than with good news? After nine years of research and writing, I am currently in discussions with a publisher to bring my biography of Maria Chabot to market in 2027!!!

We're still working on the fine details so I can't say too much more for now but once I can, I will share the final word here first!

This journey started as curiosity about a relative and ended up being more than I could have ever imagined. It was, at times, lonely, stressful, time consuming, expensive, and frustrating. It also resulted in amazing new friendships, unexpected travels, true honing of my craft, and the growth of a huge community around Maria and stories like hers. I think the pros outweigh the cons!

I just returned from a week in Santa Fe where I finalized some details with the help of the amazing people at the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. Their care of Maria's archive, their years of assistance helping me access it, and their generosity in sharing information and experiences related to it, are things I can not give enough thanks for.

Until I have more news, I sent my best to you all for the New Year. Your support and encouragement over the years has been the fuel that kept me going during some hard times and I appreciate you more than I can say with words.

Cheers to 2026!
