June 4 Santa Fe talk on Dorothy Stewart

Elizabeth's biography of Dorothy will be published March 5, 2027 by McFarland Books.

I had to share this event and amazing news! Dorothy Newkirk Stewart is the subject of a new biography being published in March 2027–and a talk June 4, 2026, at the Historic Santa Fe Foundation. The book and the talk are by Elizabeth Barr Bryant, a relative of Dorothy's, who I have been lucky to get to know as I researched the life of Maria Chabot. If you have read any of my posts, you know how incredible the correspondence between these two women was. They were truly the loves of each other's lives and the stories of their adventures could fill the pages of dozens more books.

Elizabeth's talk is in support of the Historic Santa Fe Foundation's new exhibition "Carving the Southwest: the Artistry of Dorothy Stewart". If you have not seen Dorothy's work in person, don't miss this exhibit!
